    Subs not working properly.

Okay so I bought a 2002 540i last week & it had already came with subs and & amp in it, the guy told me the subs didn’t work and I noticed that there were 2 speaker wires that were unplugged so I just hooked them back up hoping that would work but I’ve had no luck. The amp is on but it’s just making no sound, I have a Rockford fosgate p1000x1bd, If someone could help me figure this out it would be great

Hello and welcome to the forum! If you don't hear a low-level humming sound from the amp itself, that could be the problem there. Check your fuses as well to make sure none are blown.

yeah it doesn’t make any kind of sound, only sound it makes is like a whine when I’m driving, & I had already replaced one of the fuses I just forgot to mention that.

Oh fun stuff. I had to redo my entire audio system because someone installed things improperly. You should pull the radio and see what's going on back there, make sure your wires are clipped anywhere... You can check the amp to make sure it's even getting power. Check your power and ground. Make sure the subwoofer is hooked up inside the box and then make sure it isn't blown.

Make sure the amp is powering up when you turn on your headunit. If it does, make sure amp is not in protect mode. If it checks out, make sure your amp receives signal. Find a speaker you could connect to this amplifier to test.
