Hello all, we are new to the forum. We have recently bought a 2011 X5 XDrive 5.0 with 96K Km on the clock. After a 3 hour park up today we switched the car on and low and behold no A/C - fans working fine, just blowing hot air - we live in Dubai so a bit of a problem. A possible related issue could be that every day on start up (and occasionally during the day after long periods of being stationary) there is around 5-10 seconds of engine squeal which, I am assuming, is coming from a belt/bearing - having googled the belt system in the car I see that it is a rather complicated belt system also encompassing the A/C compressor. Any thoughts on what to do next to resolve the problem would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
Hello and welcome to the forum! I would suggest that you pull the car's codes to see what comes up - this should give you a definitive answer as to what is wrong and save you some $$ on unnecessary parts down the line. Hope this helps and best of luck!
