    Correct Fuel Injector

    Hi Guys,

Posting here because although I searched on the forum, it can be a bit confusing:

What is the correct fuel injector from Five-O Motorsport, for my November 1982 production, Euro 635CSI. I know it's 19lbs/hour and low impedance, but which equivalent from that store??? There are short ones and long ones and given the low impendance, seems like I can't use Ford Mustang equivalents.

    Appreciate any help.
    Thanks in advance.

I'd use the standard high-impedance Ford Mustang units, but I've never tried that combination myself. I've been told many times that the high impedance injectors can be safely used with early Motronics. Low impedance injectors cannot be used with out a resistor pack on newer DMEs.

As for the body length, I believe the M30 requires the 'long' body type with upper body slots and a Bosch EV1 connector, PN 0 280 150 556 is what I used on my trusty old M42 IIRC.

Another newer alternative is the Volvo injectors. I'd upgraded my '82 Euro M30B34 to Motronic 1.3 and installed a set of late-90s Volvo injectors (late 90s non-turbo I5 and I6 motors). They fit perfectly into the B34 fuel rail and manifold, part number 0 280 155 746.

Thanks for the info, DesktopDave! Will source it accordingly.

I recently replaced my injectors with the Five-O Motorsport/Bosch Gen III injectors on my 85 euro. I called Five-O Motorsports and they specified the correct injector. I then went to Amazon and bought them for $30.00 less and they were supplied by Five-O Motorsports.
    Easy installation and worked great.

I installed junkyard Mustang/BoschIII injectors in my '85 shark with B34 engine, and also in '89 535i with B35 engine, and both ran flawlessly, with smoother idle and acceleration, and about 10% better highway fuel economy.

Get these from pretty much any Mustang, Crown Vic, Lincoln, etc. of mid-late '90s vintage, and probably others. Cost is a few bucks each at the junkyard, then clean with carb cleaner in YouTube trick with syringe barrel and 9 volt battery, etc.

Dollar for dollar, this and a new voltage regulator and cleaning grounds and contacts, is the best bang for the buck, right after inflating tires to about 38 lbs.

Revisiting this. Spoke to Kirk from Five-O, very responsive and helpful.

My injectors are Bosch part number 0280150130. Five-O does not have this injector, the closest ones they have are:

    Bosch 0280150126 - flows about 3cc less than 0280150130
    Bosch 0280150160 - flows about 10cc more than 0280150130

    Kirk recommends I get #160.

in real world terms, would my engine run noticeably richer and how much would fuel economy be affected with a 10cc increase in injectors?

Not very knowledgeable on injectors so am thankful for any help.

    thanks!
