    New here.

Hi I'm Seth. I'm 14 years old and I have a 1999 528i. Sadly, the hood won't stay up. The struts are old and worn out. Any websites or places to buy new ones?

    Hi and welcome.

Are you even allowed to drive at 14?

FCP Euro and RMeuropean are my two favorite BMW parts supplier. Just google them.

Based solely upon the ability to conjugate the English language and the ability to create noun/verb agreement I guessing that Seth isn't 14 years old and maybe it's a typo... I'm guessing 41 instead of 14... That's just my two and a half cents worth... Welcome to the forum Mr. Seth!

Agreed. Most 14-year-olds would be incoherent to Geezers.

Well, we had some kids from this forum troll on over to the stupid Prius forums about a year or so ago, (You dumsh!ts know who you are) started troll threads about how to make a Prius go faster, loss of fuel mileage was no big deal.... You can see how well that went right? Problem is, these two, or three guys used their existing names that they use in this forum, so the dimwits left a nice trail of breadcrumbs leading right back to this place. Didn't help that they also talked about BMW's on those troll threads. Think about it, think about the type of nitwit that loves a Prius so much, that he's gotta be a part of the Prius forums, there's your sign, there's the stupid kinds of troll threads something like them would come up with... I bet you, we have been trolled left and right by these morons, there has been a rash of stupid threads on here, these past 8 or 9 months.... Or more.

I like rockauto.com for stuff like hood struts and whatnot. Nice and easy, and cheap! And you can always find a -5% discount code on the internet.

And assuming that you really are 14 (I don't see any need to question it personally), I'm glad you're learning to work on cars!

Haha! Right!!! Hopefully I'm wrong, he's for real, has manners, and there is hope for the future of mankind, not to mention, another E39 may survive a new life.

So asking about hood struts makes me a troll...? Or am I missing something here?

I sure hope so! I love E39's. 190k miles on it though...and since I have no tools, I can't really do major repairs or maintenence.
