I've had intermediate engine dying while idling on a hot day. Few Days Ago It Died And Wouldn't Start Again.
Tests I've Done:
*I have checked the plug at the fuel pump and I get about 1.5v constant without change after moving the key two position 2.
*Checked the resistance on the fuel pump(+-) and get high resistance like 400MegaOhm.
*Fuel Pump won't do anything(engage) if I connect it directly to power 12V.
*I also confirmed continuity test on fuel pump fuse # 54 is not blown.
Could it be that fuel pump shorted the fuel pump relay? Also have trouble locating this long black ekp fuel pump relay on vert car.
I just bought Radium ENGR Walbro 255lph retro kit to replace oem fuel pump.
Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
You can also use a rubber mallet and tap the fuel tank to see if the pump starts working again, this is known way of testing it funny enough.
Oh and I forgot to add that the fuel pump relay is in the rack behind the glove box, it will be above the GM-V and the most left relay.
