Finished my project of swapping an S52 into an E30. Enjoying the car but I made a mistake. When I had the differential built, I went with 25% lockup, it is not working for me. I am now in the process of upgrading to a 40% lockup and the guy doing the work is recommending a Z3M cover. My car is just a weekend car that I enjoy on local twisty roads and sometimes autocross, will the Z3M cover really help me?
Suspension: AST 4100 GTS, Vorshlag camber plates, Turner limiters
Brakes: ZCP front and rear drilled rotors, Turner stainless steel brake lines, ATE Super Blue brake fluid
Other: Reinforced rear subframe, All new RTAB, RSM, FCAB, Dunlop Star Spec tires 245/40/18 275/35/18
I ran one on my swapped e30/s50....it was street legal track only car. For your needs I would DOUBT its needed
who even knows how useful it really is w/o temps pre and post install.
bought my cover off a trashed mz3...50 bux.......and it looks super trick...lol
but geez your rear grip looks bad. I ran a stock oe lsd 373 and never broke loose like that on tracks...or your tires suck

I am running 225/45/15 Hankook RS-4 tires with perfect 50/50 cross weight(corner balanced) and Ground Control coilover suspension with 2.5 degrees negative camber front and zero toe. 2.0 degrees negative in rear and 1/8" toe in. The only information that I couldn't find is that rake that I should be running. All new suspension bushings and everything.
Really hoping to figure out the traction issue. Hoping going from 25% lockup to 40% lockup will help. Any ideas at what else I should be looking at?
Edit: I could be making a mistake on the tires. I am used to my E46 M3 with which I run 38 hot tire temps, I have been running 36 hot on E30. Going to try bring it down to 34 hot.
