    Real E31 Coilovers?!

Just came across these and was interested to know if anyone has heard of them before, or has used them personally...

^Did you have to modify the original strut assembly?

IIRC, there was one small bit of welding - I confess to not having touched them since they were installed.
Randy Cradick made up a few sets of these several years ago and I snatched one up. Sadly he has passed on, although he still brings a smile to my face when I drive the car...

Have you sought treatment for your condition? Your "8er" has been MIA for years but I do vaguely recall a test drive many moons ago. And it did drive nicely!

Front coil-overs were threaded tubes welded over the original strut tubes that are fitted with replacement damper inserts.

On the rear as seen above, there is no clearance on the right side for the coil to clear the fuel filler hose in the wheel arch and the already over-stressed top mount will certainly not take the load of the damper if it is also reacting to the weight of the vehicle on the spring.
