working on e46 and need light

    Hi Everyone!
I purchased a trouble light from Costco which was LED. I thought it would be great. But the LED does not throw light in a black engine compartment. Does anyone recommend a great bright bright work light to use in a car engine compartment or around the wheels? The unit looked like the 150 watt halogen light type. But the LED light does not bounce off the car

Was looking t Thrunite TN40 or TN36 . But they are really bright.

    Thanks for any input!

Before you spend, you should recognize what the output lumens rating is for the light you have. Only then can you know that the next one will be better.

DO NOT be confused and DO NOT accept lighting where the output is measured in watts. A light the uses more watts only consumes more power, usually converting it to heat, and may not throw more light. More efficient lights are the whole thing behind the world going from incandescent, to fluorescent, to LED, and so on. Each is more efficient than the previous, and uses less watts besides.

I get a cramp when lights are advertised and sold by their watt rating. It's so bogus...

Best shop light I own I bought from walmart for 29 bucks. It has a magnetic body but also lets a clip to hold into the neck of your shirt while you work under a car. It has an adjustable head to swivel and point where you need it.

The LED lights that you can strap to your forehead are invaluable. I use to think they were dumb till i used one. Now i never go without.

A standard incandescent Eveready flash light can serve well too, but only if you know where to shine the light!
