e36 differential input flange on e34 medium case

Can you install a e36 188mm differential 4 bolt input flange onto a e34 medium case diff?

OR, is there an adapter to go from the 105mm diameter hub with 6x 10mm studs on an 86mm bolt circle to a 4 bolt that I could mount this to? http://jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Parts_B...ft-flange.html

I highly doubt that the spline diameter on the 188mm gearset's pinion shaft is the same as on the medium case (whose diameter I don't know). Compare pinion bearing IDs to confirm.

The e34/e32 medium case is a 188mm.

I can confirm that the input flanges ARE interchangeable. Though I also confirmed that my pinion bearings are sh!t. Already have this sucker torn down awaiting replacement bearings.

Oh, I thought 188 was the small one. Then as you found out, they should work. Some E34 (92 520i I found in a yard once, for instance) have a 4-bolt flange at the diff pinion, using a medium-case diff with the same subframe and everything else.
