    Wheel spacers

So I refreshed my suspension a few months ago with Koni Yellows and H&R springs ( other stuff too). It dropped it a bit and now I feel like the wheels need to get pushed out. I have stock roadstars and stock sized tires front and rear. Measured for spacers and came up with 8mm front and rear. Really??? I feel like that is almost nothing. The tread sits much further back than that but I measured to the widest part of the tire as per instructions. So I guess the question is; will 8mm make that much of a difference? Am I going to look at the car after and wonder why I spent $200? Voices of experience would be much appreciated here.

I run 15mm in the rear, 12mm in the front. I don't think 8mm would be nearly enough back there. It would probably be fine in the front though. I do believe I get a bit of rubbing on the fender liners in the front.

8mm is a really bad size as well. you want hub-centric spacer which is normally 10mm+ (though be care full with 10mm on some wheels as they rim needs a chamfer on the inside). or use 5mm and the rim will still be locate by the stock lip on the car.

Check the local BMWCCA facebook page, you can normally find people that will let you try some different sizes.

    Coupes...
I'm running 18mm spacers in the back with BBS RKs and E46 M3 wheel fitment. (ET25)

Rogue used to have a spacer kit they would send you to try out different size spacers to see what looks best to you.

I am pretty happy with mine, so I have ordered the same thing multiple times.

White is Right, Steel Grey is OK, but Estoril is the only color that truly matters.

    I like Coupes.

front.jpgrear.jpgRoadstars here...front runs 225s and a 10mm, rear 255s and a 15mm with longer bolts. No rubbing whatsoever. Wish I'd gone 15mm on the front though. All lowered a bit on TC Klines and Koni yellows.

Thanks all and appreciate the picks, PapaRob. I know there are fitment kits but you can't drive 'em and interference is my concern. May roll the dice with 10s up front as that seems like it might be a safe place. Agree more would look better but rubbing would drive me crazy even if occasional. Will take some more rear measurements to decide between 15 to 20. Again, thanks for all the insight.

I would seriously re-think the tens, unless you can find one with the hub centric lip. I should have clarified, that, yes, I do get rubbing, but I am also running a 9" wheel with 255 tires in the front. It only rubs at full lock, and only at the front of the wheel well. If you are running even an 8.5 inch front wheel, it won't be a problem. There is no issue with my stock wheels (7.5 inch with 225 tires)

+1 on hub centric. I use ECS Tuning if I can't find them used.

I ran 15mm front 20mm rear lowered on my stock Roadstars without rubbing anything, even at steering lock or full compression. 225/45 and 255/40 tires.

Thanks again, all. I think you gave me a good bead on the range I need to be in. Exactly what I needed. Fitment kit on the way to dial in the look.
