I have a 2003 Z4
If you are sitting in the drivers seat and you push the passenger window down it will go down.. IF you press the passenger window up it will go down. Nothing will make the passenger window go up from the drivers side. Both up and down on the switch make the window go down. Why would up make it go down?
Switch on the passenger side works fine, both up and down work normal.
Sent GM5 in for lock issue and was told windows were fine.
I have no idea why the window switch when pressed up or down make it go down only.
I changed driver side window switch with one from a wreck, same issue.
Thanks,
Chad

Are you the original owner? Did you have an alarm system installed with remote entry?
If so, I would guess the wiring is mismatched under dash. Shouldn't be hard to find and with proper wiring diagram it should be easy to sort out.
Might be easier to take the seat out, lay down on floor and look up in to dash to work on it.
If I lived closer, I'd be more than willing to drop by and help out.

2nd owner, but no alarm system. Just factory keyless. Friend of mine keeps saying window switch, but changed it with a used one and same issue. Hard to believe the used part would have same issue. Weird that window works from passenger side fine up and down. Just driver side, both up and down go down.
Check post start reading at post #2 in this thread: It's not a z4, but bmw may use same tech in our power windows?

CDsweet, thanks.. I tired that test and my windows work fine from the outside key as well as the key fob, up and down fine. I hate to order a 3rd window switch for the drivers side. Wonder if there is a way to jump some of the pins to see if it will go up.
