    Preparing for MHD tune

    Hey Guys,

So as my extended warranty is now over, I am planning to add few more horses to my ride.
It's almost a stock car except the BMW Performance Power Kit which was installed from the Dealer.
Due to warranty I have only few cosmetic changes like BMW M shift knob, Black Kidney grill etc.

    Some details of my car:
2011 335i 6 spd with 87K Miles- Convertible with Sports package.

    • Oil change- 1 month ago
    • Full brake pad/Rotor kit- 7 months ago
    • BMW spark plug- 6K miles ago
    • Ignition Coils are stock
    • Air filter/ Cabin filter- 1 month ago
    • Walnut blasting- 6K miles ago
    • Preventative works performed 3 months ago - Transmission Mount (OEM), transmission fluid replace, differential fluid replace, coolant replace, new radiator( OEM), brake flush, Power steeting fluid replace.
    • Also few items were replaced by the Dealer ( warranty) for diagnosing few issues- MAF sensor, Charge pressure sensor and recently the Charge pipe ( OEM). I know lot of people say to upgrade the Charge Pipe but a brand new OEM charge pipe should be little better than old and aging stock pipe ?

This is my daily drive car. I do road trips once in a month. Each trip is more than 1K miles and some are 2K miles.

I hope you guys now have a good idea about the car and the driver ( Lol ).

I am not planning to track this car and mainly enjoy driving on open roads during my long trips. I would like to have some additional power just as a 'reserved' power for occasional fun- you know what I mean.

What else should I look for or upgrade before I tune my car with MHD Stage 1 ? Or I should be fine considering I am not planning to WOT it daily.

Thanks for reading and your valuable suggestions.

Seems like you have the maintenance pretty well covered.
Your car should be in good shape for a tune, just be sure to data log. It's very inportant that your air-fuel ratio is good, timing holds steady, and boost meets target. An upgraded intercooler can give you some extra IAT cooling and greater safety margin on the tune. Since it's your daily, you might want to stick with stage 1 for reliability. I would also recommend oil changes every 7k, especially with a tune.

Edit-since you have an N55, you don't need to worry about injectors

Thanks for giving some confidence. And yes, intercooler upgrade is on my list now.

I'd replace the vacuum lines and diverter valves as they are cheap to do.
