Well had my first race the other weekend, car did fine. i did poorly. Its been about a year since i ran last so i guess its expected.
As for boost control looks like my plumbing modification did perfectly and i now hold 6psi to redline.
here is a before, as you can see we were hitting 20psi at 5500 rpm.

idk if i'm reading that right but the dark purple line and the dotted red line stay about the same boost before the red spikes to 20psi at about 5,300
yet the red appears to be making 100hp over the purple at the same rpm/boost before the spike about 4,500 ???
Those were from street pulls at various locations. Im sure hill's played a roll in parts of the inconsistency.
Lower graph, dotted is boost level, solid is afr.
Dark purple was lower boost. around 7 psi at 4500 rpm.
red was around 13psi at 4500 rpm.
Since most of the issues are solved i plan on rescheduling a dyno tune FINALLY!

i highly recommend e85 even if it's low boost.
Very Soon. have the sensor and the CANBUS adapter but its battling me. everything was good with the canbus adapter but just crapped out .

i didnt get the best before and after photos. There is still orange peel at the paint level and some scratches in the clear that i gave up on.
Next up is the roof which i will document better. Other news its running at around 12-15 psi. But kept miss firing. Went to swap plugs and noticed my plug wires were coming apart. turner plugs from ecs. New set is incoming and ill return the old one but was hoping to run at the 1/4mile today.
I have a set of other wires i may throw back on as i build the 10.4mm Taylor 409 wires i originally wanted to run.

What frontal area and coefficient of drag did you use on virtual dyno i want to try it out.
nevermind i'm always making like 700tq never works for me. hp/tq never even cross. Doesn't show correct boost.

Last night i was able to get the PWM fan control setup and operating sorta well. I think im going to do a MAT Vs Coolant temperature.
I wish i could add some if statements to the code to do some self checks on the system every time. Video showing this will be up shortly.

Soon. I glazed my clutch the other week so im working that off. I also have determined i have carbon tracing on the cap or rotor im looking into.
Once those two are figured out i want to take to the track (1/4) and then dyno tune.
Been tuning the warmup enrichment this weekend. Need to determine a way to mount the flex fuel sensor as this seems to be a little black magic ie no real way to easily mount it.

on the clutch i slip it all the time.
what works for me is to kick the clutch in when you're on the freeway. Cruise at 70 and just kick it in real quick couple times in a row.
it seems to re-bed and come back to life. Also try slipping it more than normal in 1st. Works excellent for me w/ segmented kevlar.

Well, lifes been a little busy. Miss fire has made its way to even low boost setting. Decided to go to the track however and see how it would do. (did not think my miss was that bad untill my first run at 4.8psi)

MS2 Extra yes. But i feel like i filled all my outputs. Besides the three LED's they are still stock. New cap and rotor came in, if the weather holds out i may run up to the track and see what the result is.

As the days get colder i have been working on the cold start tuning and idle tuning. No IAC so need to be a bit more precise on the tune. after some tinkering i got the idle +/- 20rpms without a IAC.

I have taken a few weeks off work and have been able to spend 2 of the days on the e30. That has resulted into finding the final issues with the misfires.
Recap of ignition system.
New 10.4mm Taylor wires
New Cap and Rotor
New BRP7ES plugs gapped to .xx" (small and need to look at my gauge)
New crankposition sensor and connector.
New coil
Every part made the car run better and placed the misfire at a higher rpm/boost level.
Given that it still did not fix the issue. Given that i started to dig into what was changed during the two days the tuner was on site. Comparing the tune i found the following.

As you can see i have 3.8ms versus 1.0ms for MINIMUM spark duration.
I started digging deeper as i sorta undestood dwell but not minimum spark duration. My google searching found this.

Now going back through the logs my dwell in the logs seemed odd. as RPM went up, my dwell went down pretty quickly. Referring to very little to no time to charge the coil before the next ignition cycle.

As you can see RPM increses and my Dwell decreases pretty steep as the rpm creeps up.
Now with the settings changed, I get minimal drop.
I should Note my Dwell is set to 3.0ms and my minimal spark duration is at .5 I can reduce this to .1 however i wanted to see how it would react as i increased boost.

is this coil specific?
you made me look at logs.
mine is set to max 2.9ms and does not have a minium, but yet it stays about 3.6ms through out the rpms
what firmware you have it's alittle different.
I dont believe this is coil specific, however the blaster coil should see a max of 3.5 to 3.8 from what i looked at. Each coil has a specific maximum amount of time it can charge without over heating. I vaguely remember that you up it a bit at a top and do a few pulls and see if it gets hot.

I think i have been running this for a year or two. Looks like i can update here as well. Need to see what the differences are.
Did a few pulls to find the true limit of the clutch. Red and blue are either slightly up hill or slightly down hill for an average.

So a while back i installed a secondary board to capture additional inputs and outputs. However i seemed to have goofed something up with it trying to do the flex fuel sensor.
Ill need to look to see if i can connect the flex sensor directly to MS. Ill see what i can do tonight and tomorrow.
I also noticed when i ran 17 pounds i hit close to 79% duty cycle. I have a 440 that just fits in the tank that i may try and run in parallel with the 255.
i know my fuel lines cant handle it but im curious what the true limit is of the system. But is it worth it even trying e85 with the clutch that cant handle much more?
Flex fuel sensor, 440 lift pump are all thats mentally holding my back from the dyno. Maybe i should just go now and have them final tune it. Thoughts? EAE didnt go very well but i did get Accel enrichment to help with tip in.
Late night update, flex fuel sensor is up and running. Guess we will be doing some flex fuel tuning tomorrow.
