Does anyone know how to easily remove the 3rd brake light cover and the size bulb I will need?

    Sean,
From the rear seat pull the black part of the light upward on an angle (about 30 degrees) toward the roof and it should slide forward. I would use a Honda,
Stanley bulb 34903-SF1-A01, purchase the bulb from a Honda dealer, third party bulbs are junk. I replaced all the brake bulbs with the Honda, they are brighter.

Thanks for this info! I will switch out the bulb at the beginning of the week.

Is there a DIY fix for the windshield wipers? The motor for them seems to have gone out.

Is there power to the motor? If so, the motor could just be bound up with old caked up grease inside the gearbox. Mine was.

I had a similar problem with my wipers, the passenger side pivot bearing in the wiper transmission had seized up. The wiper motor is fairly easy to remove, but I had to take the whole cowling apart to remove the transmission & arms. Once I got it out it was pretty easy to service. I also cleaned up the motor's contact wheel and lubed the pivots with white lithium grease. Worked great after that!

There's also a timer relay that controls the wipers in some E24. Check it out, it's the long black one at the back of the fuse box.

Its been awhile since I visited this thread. I'm really enjoying the car. I may have a small oil leak. When replacing the valve/head gaskets, what else do you all recommend I replace? I was thinking I should go ahead and replace the water pump and timing chain.

Unless your chain is really noisy, I wouldn't worry about it. If it hasn't been done I'd suggest your next focus be the undercarriage. Lots of bushings and stuff under there that can wear out. Inspect the motor and transmission mounts, test the shocks, idler arm, etc. All that goes to steering and handling.

Thank you for responding. The chain is not noisy at all. The undercarriage seems to be in good condition. The previous owner seemed to have tackled that area. The car handles great at high speeds. After I replace the gaskets, I'm going to focus on the exhaust because I'm hearing a rattling noise. I believe I still have the original exhaust set up still. I know OEM is the way to go but does anyone have any suggestions?

Exhaust rattling could just be a loose heat shield. There's an aluminum sheet fastened to the underside of the transmission tunnel, sometimes it gets a little worn out. It can pull away from the mounting studs, then it can rub on the driveshaft or fall onto the exhaust. It's pretty easy to put a new fender washer onto the original nut & stud to repair.

The front hangar can also rust out and rattle. It's bolted to the rear of the transmission. I usually end up removing it.

If it's the catalyst or a rusted muffler, I've had trouble finding reasonably-priced OEM exhaust parts. They're well made but very expensive. I've been very tempted to have an exhaust welded up instead at a muffler shop.
