Hello All,
Bought my first BMW today and only because I think it was a screaming deal. Tell me what you think:
1997 740 IL, black with good paint(need polishing)
Tan interior that is slightly faded but not ripped.
257k miles and runs strong. Good Continental tires with beehive style wheels
new timing chain and guides at 197k and all service records from 2001 up to last week.
bads:
check engine light on (bad O2 sensor I think)
menu says "check Coolant"
needs detailing
I paid $800 cash.
Good Deal or no?
What is it worth?
Let m know please.
Welcome to the forum. $800 with guides done is a no brainer. Check coolant is often the sensor. Recommend buying a new reservoir. Comes with the sensor.
good buy with the guides done .

That definitely sounds like a good price. I'm sure a lot of people would pay $800 for a non-runner with broken guides.

Good buy even though I didn't think the guides were a big deal on the pre-facelift engines.
