    Ryan Castro's 7.1L M3 Thread- our attempt at Racemode

    Making a thread here since we decided to try and go full Racemode

    Some info:
    Motorsport Hardware X Motorsport Fluids race car build

    7.1L 434ci ERL built Motor w/AFR Built top end 660hp/600tq
    AST 5100 suspension in place before Moton 2 way are ready
    T56 - 6 speed

    Hi kalib0Y,
    I came across an old thread where I think you state that you once had BC racing coilovers? Was just wondering how you liked those? I am in need of a new suspension for my e36 race car and considering one of the higher end BC racing coilover kits or the TCK koni based double adjustables. Do the BC racings even compare to the Motons you run now?

    Hi, I am buying AST5100 series suspension for my Z3 coupe and the front end is similar to E36. What specs wheels and tires are you running on front and how close to wheel and tyre are the shocks?

    I have 8,5X18" ET35 wheel and 225/40 tyre and on our calculations it would come very close so that even AST's head of products was not sure. So your answer is very valuable, thanks in advance!

    Night and day difference. The AST/Moton feel "controlled" over the "stiff" feeling of the BC that try to keep up with track abuse. Even the AST 5100 were a great upgrade, We will be testing this weekend on the Moton 2-ways so we look forward to gathering data about those. I would say the AST 5100 are similar to KW club sports

    Interested to hear feedback on upgrading from AST 5100's to Motons as I'm considering the same step.

    The are perfect. No complaints from them at all. We get all the adjustment we need and they feel great

    The car did well! for only being a street car 5 months ago, we know what we need to do to get closer to winning next year. We were 3 seconds off...thats how close the competition is...but we were basically drifting the course haha!

    Inspirational. Really. I need to know some specs. lol No pusher fan? Is it ok to run without with a upgraded radiator and SPAL? And what size rubber you running, looks like a lot.

    Some more recent pics at the end of 2017 at super lap battle. Came in 7th because the thermostat housing coming loose and working out some other small issues. Best lab at BW is 1.51.7




    Despite the R compounds, Lack of tire was our achille's heel. So we start the beginning of 2018 with more wide. 18x10.5 w/295 front and 18x12 w/315 rear




    Lets see how we do in 2018!

    Can’t tell if you did Felony Form in the front too. Think you could fit a 315 up there on an 11” rim?

    Yes, front and rear. They added about 15mm then the flares added additional width. 295 max at my ride height. I would think 305 if I raise the car
