Do you prefer light or dark for your interior and why.?
My interior is dark, which I prefer over beige. But the next time I get a chance, I'm switching to grey - I'm sick of all these bodily fluid stains being so gosh dang evident to the naked eye.
I have silver with black sport seats but I would much rather have red interior.
I have a black Z3 with a red interior. But I also have a black XK8 with a very light interior and a green Subaru Legacy with a black interior. I think each exterior colour has interior colours that are more suitable than others.
I think the answer is, not tan and not black. Two tone anything looks excellent.
My coupe is black on black. I don't mind the look of brown leather, but just the seats and the door inserts.
Two tone.... Not Beige. Dark.
I'm absolutely flummoxed (and irritated) that the M cars were not offered with extended leather.... but most of all they weren't offered with WALNUT extended.
The PY coupe with the Walnut interior swap with black console and dash is PERFECT.
The Oregon Beige just feels a little too 90's Lexusy?
The Walnut feels so rich. As for carpeting and panels, has to be black. Light colors are too hard to keep looking nice IMHO. Dark also feels more cozy and sporty to me, esp. with black / dark headliner. Not sure why though

Black single tone interior is hideous and I hate it.
I lost my taste for dark interiors sometime last century, that used to be my first pick. Now I prefer light ones, tan or beige, things stay a lot cooler. I know that I'm going against the grain here but most of those //M interiors are a bit much, but I'm old.
I like my black interior. When I recovered the seats and wheel, I seriously considered going with a two tone cream and black scheme, but my friends talked me out of it. The nice thing about black is that it doesn't show wear like other colors--spill a little coffee--no problem, just wipe it off later. I decided to play around with textures and perforations instead. Of course, I'm color blind, so my opinion as to color doesn't count for much.
I agree about the black. To me the stock tan interior is the worst option for coupes and black is the worst for roadsters.
Favorite interior on a stock Z3, extended walnut. Then extended tanin. Then the M two-tone interiors, then the rest...
I prefer the interior I'm going to have soon

When I was looking for a Z3M, I found two. One was solid black interior (seats and dash), the other black and red. At first I was not sure about the red trim on the dash. But that is the one I bought, and now I like it a lot. Breaks up all of the black and looks pretty sporty.

All were light interiors. Agreed that light interiors are more difficult to keep up, but black inside feels claustrophobic.
That the BMW Department of Interiors did not offer walnut instead of beige for the Boston Green M Coupes is one of Life's Great Mysteries. I try not to think about it too much, but after seeing walnut in a black Z3 Coupe, it's a real head-shaker.
You know my answer by now.
Stuff. I got stuff.

I do like two tone, especially when one is red. Black is OK but I'm tired of so many black interiors and bland tones. Too bad the tan isn't more caramel color.
It's a Hybrid--Burns Gas and Rubber
If you plan on keeping the car...have it done...this was black and grey. I've owned the car eight or nine years since the reupholstery.

Of course now I can spill the beans on this...

Tan or gray for me.... I don't like the look of black leather.

I have a full tan interior if anyone wants one. Good condition, will happily box and ship right to your door.
I think everything looks fine as long as you have a black dash. Whatever color pod inserts is cool, but the black dash seems necessary to me to keep the glare down. Granted, I have all blue dashes with black pods, but its a mix. Tan dash is terrible on every car ever.
And the extended leather dash is a terrible idea and you should be glad you don't have it. They all shrink in the sun and its a PITA.
Acura did the leather covered dash with the NSX and then almost immediately did a 180 and replaced the leather dash with a vinyl dash because it could survive.
White is Right, Steel Grey is OK, but Estoril is the only color that truly matters.
I like Coupes.
Every time I look in this thread I just think of Terry's interior in a Champagne leather or something similar, over a dark metallic color... oooh... Champagne leather interior, Oxford green exterior. THATS it, thats the combo right there...
