Yeah, that experience w/ the wrong motor confirms what I thought in the first place - that your motor seller is an overpriced BS scam artist. Shoulda bought a properly priced motor for $300. If its not the same car then who knows what year and miles it is... I'd say the core-buyback offer on your side sounds fair. Also learn your lesson that you shoulda listened to forum advice when we told you not to buy that "guaranteed" motor... We all here could have told you that the 330i motor would need the pan swapped had only it been caught in advance but as you found out - its hard to notice the difference unless you're looking for it.

But hopefully car will be solid and back on the road soon... and the last of your motor swap worries for some time to come...
