    Low beam shroud recommendations?

I posted this in the lighting section forgetting that the sub has been all but dead lately so I'll try here too. I hope this is ok with the mods.

I recently did an FX-R retrofit. Although I'm absolutely satisfied and loving the output and performance overall, I'm not exactly thrilled with the look of the headlight assembly itself.

When looking at the headlight you can see the hardware and projector through the lens. I even painted all the hardware silver in an attempt to hide it all, but it wasn't much help.

Next, I ordered some E46 shrouds and rings to mod and slip over the projector in an attempt to hide it a bit. I was hoping it would be large enough to hide most of the projector and bracket but it really didn't do much. I had to trim it down so much to get it to fit that in the end I ended up reducing its outer diameter and overall "hideability".

Essentially what I ended up with was a partial E46 shroud with the projector and hardware still exposed along the outer edges.

Has anyone made their own shrouds or used others to hide this a little better?

I know I won't ever get it to look stock, but the closer I can get to looking stock the better/cleaner I think it would be. Other thoughts include smoking out the low beam but I'm not sure I'd like the bug-eye look.

    Thanks in advance!

Easy answer, paint everything around the projector black.

Some members on the forum have blacked out around the projector so you get less reflection from the chrome/silver parts and get a concentrated beam or "bug eye" look as you call it while hiding the rest of it.

Personally I think it would look good blacked out and I plan on doing just that to mine when I scoop a set up.

I don't really like the bug eye look though. I may just leave it. I'd rather get it as close as possible to stock.

I still have a set of DEPO projectors left over that I gutted out to do the retrofit. Maybe I'll hack them up and see what I can get out of those. I liked how they looked with the original setup. Just hated the performance obviously.
