    Coilover buying decision

I have an e36 318i, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for comfort coilovers. No budget, I'll listen to anything.

TC Kline is the best of the best. The pss9's arent bad but i don't think you can choose your spring rates.

Why do you need coilovers for your 318i? For backyard race track? lol...

Concur tck's are good. Look at GC too. But you are wasting your money. Why not good shock spring combo (koni/eibach, HR oe sport, or dinan, or m3 stock springs)? Also bilstein HD or touring are good. If you want more camber install washers or get some fixed or adjustable camber plates like dinan, turner, GC or vorshlage plates. Remember to redo all your suspension bushings and ball joints too.

If you want comfort, get a set with adjustable dampening for the piston.

    Avoid Vogtland!

Haven't tried them on an E36, but Bilstein's PSS9/PSS10s are very comfortable.

I was considering these, they are inexpensive, adjustable pistons and have camber plates. Who knows how long they will last, but when it comes to aftermarket parts for the E36 it's always a crap shoot.

If you do get the cheap china coilovers that are dual piston like the ones I put a link to, never operate the shock in any position other than the proper vertical orientation (for dual piston versions).

Realistically, how long would these cheap kits last under normal driving conditions? Im looking for a set of struts and springs as well but I just dont have the money for a set of bilsteins or similar for over $2k..plus my bushings and ball joints are pretty much shot as well so im looking at a full suspension overhaul in the near(hopefully) future.

Thenjnick, definitely get poly bushings for the front control arm, sway bar, and rear trailing arm bushing.

But that china kit I linked is hard to beat value wise, will it last more than a year or two? who knows. But it's nice to come with all the boots and bump stops, camber plate.

Ill definitely get the poly's for the front end and RTABS, thanks. I really might see how much life i can get out of one of those china kits along with the poly's.
