I hate to be so confused all of the time. The ignition switch is toast? THIS CAN MAKE THE CAR NOT START. Roll the car and dump the clutch, it should start.

This is a poor guess at best. The codes do not get posted during a Start Cycle, they come after the engine is already running. He's not getting Lean Codes, by the way.
Ghost codes still accur during a or low voltage startup. Lean codes regardless. A faulty ignition switch to be assumed at fault from a no start based on that the car pop starts is equally a poor guess at best. I think your being a bit overly dramatic about this. Just get a meter and check the voltage drop a few times and see if it goes under 11v which is about where the dme really dumps. And also check the ignition switch terminals for 12v and continuity with the key turned. It's not a big deal like some magical diagnosis pissing contest. What is the deal.
Nobody would recertify these machines after somebody screwed with them without any visibility into what they did.

I don't own a meter and don't know how to use them. If I did then I would have done it. Tomorrow I will take the intake manifold off and try to check voltage, or just remove starter and have autozone test it.

Codes are also a couple of weeks old, before the car had the starting problem, will recheck codes that are present now tommorrow as well. Thanks for all the help
Tried to start the car and just realized the really low sounding click also occurs when I turn the key and the clutch isn't pushed in, but since my car is a 1997 it means that the clutch must be pushed in to start. I'm starting to think this isn't a starter problem but more or less an electrical. Anyone have any tips?
Not really. However it is a posative test to ahow that its something involvedbwith the starter. Anything from the ignition switch to the clutch switch o the wireing to the starter. The only way to see specifics is to either start swapping parts or checking them. No one can do this except you or whover is physically there to inspect the car

Everyone is just guessing, as you are not able to perform tests,
and your performing a lot of unnecessary work.
Remove starter-have it bench tested-replace if defective-DONE!

any update op? I'm curious to know what went wrong
Sorry for the late responses. I have been in the process of trying to take out the starter motor, but I cannot seem to get this e12 torx screw out. It is almost impossible. I have tried sockets and two different wrenches but it just won’t come out. I also lost two other screws in the process of taking out the intake manifold. This is just one big mess. Any tips on how to take out this starter? Thanks all!
