Can anyone tell me if this is a matter of reattaching the bracket? Can This be accomplished with a jack stand and new bolts or is this a specialty repair? Yikes..
I've replaced trailing arms with just jack stands, but your repair will depend on how the arm got detached. Hopefully it just came loose rather than things getting stripped or bent.
Thank you, I am hoping for an inexpensive fix. I handed down my 2002 325i to my son who is on a low budget (we both are), he told me that there was a thunk noise happening for a few weeks prior to the separation.. assuming it was the bolts coming loose, then the last bolt shearing off causing the separation. I am hopeful no other damage was caused.
You know, Nationwide, now sells insurance for young lads that never learned how to change a flat tire!
You need to find out why it fell off
Pics of damage. Polly ripped the pocket right out.
