Anyone know how to modify the VIN of the ECU? I have 2 cars, a salvage donor with the S52, and the base car its going into. Ideally, the ECU will match the body so I'd like to have the ECU updated to the VIN of the good body.
You would have to perform a flash update to the ecu with WinKFP or similar, at which time inputting the correct VIN. However, the old VIN will still be stored inside, and is much harder to remove.

I'm assuming that if I have the EWS disabled prior to making changes it'll avoid having issues once the VIN is updated?
EWS is super easy to align into an EWS2 car. Not really necessary unless this is for a swap into non-EWS car.
A mismatched dme to ews will only stop fuel and spark, it will not give you issues updating/flashing/diagnosing etc. Everything else works, except running the engine, when EWS is mismatched..
