Not a pest, 26127501257 is the entire assembly with bearing. Buy the butyl rubber strip that goes with it as well. Its $5 and prevents harmonics from the CSB traveling to the cab.

Quick update on status of wheels. Had them checked by Quicksilver this morning (only $40 - well worth the peace of mind). No warping on any of them but none of them had been balanced correctly. Parts for DS should be here Wednesday. Slight shimmy in the front end completely resolved. Thanks everyone.

BTW the computer setting for balancing this type of wheel is ALU-2.

    ALU-2 means sticky weights only.

Good to know. I've had the car in four times in 6 months trying to get the tires balanced. The last time I took it back in they told me all 4 wheels were warped. The obvious problem was that they were using the incorrect weights. There were clip weights on all four wheels. With the correct weights in place the car no longer has a shimmy on acceleration or braking. I had already ruled out brakes and CAB's, by having both inspected.

Is it just me, or is it an industry standard to give women bad information? I'm beginning to develop a complex.

Sometimes these cars are sensitive to the way the wheels are mounted in relation to the balance of the brake rotors. The key indicator is if there's an intermittent shake that comes and goes around 60mph with straight wheels and tires but cant be balanced out even with road force. Taking the front wheels off and rotating them 90 degrees or 180 degrees on the rotor then remounting usually takes care of it.

Interesting information. So, the incorrect wheel weights had nothing to do with it? My shimmy was worse on acceleration/braking at lower speeds and decreased significantly at cruising speeds. Is this the same thing? I have so much to learn. I'm going to need a brain transplant!

Not the same thing. If the balance was off, then that was your problem. Im talking about a shake when all else fails.

Worn control arm ball joints/ control arm bushings can cause the car to shimmy. In my experience, tires out of balance usually vibrate at a certain speed and go away with more or less speed. Warped brake rotors cause the steering wheel to shake when braking.

I’d call fcpeuro to get the correct parts. The company’s customer support is excellent as the people know their stuff.
