So you know, If i end up buying it it will be getting an LSx T56 swap.
So the engine will get repaired (before the swap) and the engine/trans will be sold.
Being honest, the electric steering isn't all that bad. But it really depends on what kinda car you have and wether the car has a sport mode button. That makes a huge improvement in steering. In my R56, in comfort/standard mode you can tell it's electric. Sport mode it's so much more real feeling. Turbos are you either like them or hate them. But they can make for some pretty amazing highway pulls.

That is one good looking E39
Greyhound is defifinitely the the cheapest route for something that size, I think they can accept paletted shipments if properly secured and wrapped up but I'd have to look into that, alternatively you could separate the seat backs and sandwich the bottoms/backs together into two smaller boxes, that might be easier from a shipping standpoint. I believe the seat backs can be separated pretty easily
Guys, the car is officially for sale or part out.
To follow forum rules, please message me for interest as this post is not in the "for sale" forum.
You can also text me at (860) five seven three 5 3 eight two. Name your price and your part and please don't waste both of our times with ridiculous offers.
Beautiful car, hope the car gets sold in 1 piece and is brought back to life.
Thanks bud. Unfortunately there comes a time when you realize it's not money well spent based on what you need/desire in a vehicle. The car won't last forever. It could but is it really wise?
For a younger gent, this car would be a steal. For a 51 year old guy like me, I see everything I upgraded/replaced already is approaching it's second time around. A short run down on the nice parts to sell would fetch nearly $5K. The wheels and steering wheel are close to what the car is worth with an engine in need of a head gasket, wouldn't you say?
I'd rather not part it and see the car drive on. Unless someone wants the car for $2500 without the wheels and steering wheel, she's getting parted.
Yes, it was a lot of time creating the perfect E39 for me and it was WELL worth. Til the day she went, I loved ever single mile I put on it. Best sporty sedan EVER!
If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
Link to good used engines for a few hundred bucks......
Have you looked at www.car-part.com ?
Looking for an E39 belly pan , passenger front inner fender liner …
I've looked but they are all mystery motors.... A low mileage one could be hammered and or poorly maintained.
The lifers here know that there is no such thing a cheap fix if you want something to last. I chuckle at a few hundred bucks for a good engine. Someone needs to still put it in and those days for me are long gone.
I sent you text about a bunch of parts from a 774 number.
Hmm, hope this gets sold in whole to an enthusiast who will do a swap. Looks way too solid to part out.
The part out has sadly commenced, details on whats been sold is here:

Is the eurodash completely OEM? How much would you let the eurodash go for?
