    Wifes 2011 335i Rotors & Pads

Ok guys I'm never on the 3 series board, But always on the Z3 board. So I need to change out my wife's Rotors and pads on her 2011 335i. She doesn't speed around like I do in my Mcoupe. But I want to put decent rotors and pads on for her.. I need suggestions on what to buy for her car....

The more brakes I replace, the more I keep coming back to OEM pads. Zimmerman rotors are great, I've installed a couple sets, my friends love them on their e46s. Textar makes the BMW OEM pads, you can get them for half the cost of BMW branded ones.

The best brake parts are factory BMW brake parts

I found a Zimmerman brake set on FCP but it comes with BMW Brake Pad Set - Akebono. They say the pads are made here in the USA. Are these pads any good?

I don't like ceramic pads, because in my experience, you give up a lot of stopping power for less brake dust. They can also be a bit noisy. Lots of guys like the Akebono pads, but I prefer the bite of OEM pads.

I just put a set of Meyle rotors and Cool Carbon pads on the front of my 2010. Not sure where I got them - BavAuto or BimmerWorld probably.
My fronts lasted 122K miles, and actually had quite a bit of pad left, but starting to wear unevenly, causing some shudder.

I used the same rotors and pads on both our 3-series, an E91 and E93. Both are performing very well after a year. Ours came from BavAuto as kits, including sensors and backing paste, for under $200. I think they're a bit higher now, but still a real deal.
