Could it be the fuel pumps? Naahhhh dont think so (Our parts car...many years in bad gas and low fuel level).

I need to check mine out. Have not checked the pumps filters and air filters for 9 years now.
UNLEADED FUEL causes this and old age, our pumps use the fuel as a lubricant.
i changed both pumps/ filters/ rubber fuel lines last year and found identical looking pumps to yours,also found black rubber granuals in the tank.
our rubber fuel lines are not suited to unleaded fuel.

Also, its the ethenol that breaks down the fuel lines. Find the 100% gasoline.
Could that corrosion be from water in the fuel? Ethanol is hygroscopic, and attracts water.
I treat my gas with ISO-HEET to remove water from fuel 2 times a year, a good practice even in warm climates.
