    F32 428i As first car at 17

I am currently looking for my first car, and I have been a fan of BMW for quite some time. I was looking at the E92 328i for quite some time, but I don't know how to repair stuff so I want a more bulletproof, long-lasting car. I then looked for the 228i M sport, but they're sparse and most likely will resell cheaper in the future, and not hold their value as well as M235i and M2's would. My budget is under $25,000. I'm looking at the 428i M Sport, or the Infiniti Q60/G37 Coupés.

I am wondering if the N20 engine is reliable for the 428i so far, because I know my parents previous E46 330i '05 would break down all the time. My mom now has an F30 328i '14 and it is holding up fine, which is why I may look for the F32 428i '14 due to their depreciating values.

Will it be a good choice? I want this car to last me throughout college, and my parents will be paying for it. We don't want to go over $25,000. If this specific car won't be good, what else would you guys recommend? I will most likely use it to drive to get food, go to the gym, go to my job, and school.

    Thank you!

Overall the N20 is an amazing motor that has won several awards, but there was an issue with the timing chain when it first came out. I would do some research on the years that were effected and ask the dealer if this was addressed if you're looking at that year. Best of luck!

What do you care about resale value buying with daddy's $$ anyway?

Hey, my dad bought me my first e46 323i way back in the day. I loved and babied that car. Years later i'm able the buy myself a BMW and upgrade, but the passion is still there
