I have a set of the original PFC Direct Drive Rotors on my E36 M3 and need to replace the discs (car was in storage for about 5 years and just recently got back on track). I just found out that they've upgraded the design and apparently don't offer the replacement discs for my system anymore. Has anyone found a source for replacement discs that would fit on the PFC hats, or is my only option to abandon the system? I like the floating rotor design, but I don't know that the cost is worth the benefit.
I've tried a few places with no luck. I will most likely be going back to blanks unless I get a good discount on upgrading to the new design.
Ive heard even with the new design it's still hard to find replacement rings in stock though.
I think i heard Coleman can make custom rings.
Two piece rotors are a freaking waste of money. They're up to $300+ a side for the major brands. I'd switch back to stock brakes, they're fine. I switched back to stock brakes from Stoptechs a year and a half ago. They don't feel as good, but they work fine and rotors are 6 times cheaper.
I was in your situation and got a rebate on a pair of the new design.
Contact your supplier and you may be able to get a rebate as well.
