2006 ZF 6HP19 AT kick after stop

    Hi guys,

I just want to share my findings with other fans, as I naturally don't believe every word from garage guy. Here's my problem.

When I stop my car and leave D in position (eg.lights), I can feel kick sometimes after approx. 2-3 sec.. This happens when AT oil temperature is hot. There are no other kicks when using it (eg.when changing gears and so on), everything is smooth and works completly fine. I recently changed AT oil, which I do every 60.000 km, it has about 260.000+ km overall these days.

Any idea what that could be? As this is not on the list of "often defects", I don't want to start changing piece by piece and leave idiots 2k $.

    Thanks in advance

    Skopky

Te valve body pressure seals wear out causing the trans to hit hard on along stops then accelerating away. The seals keep all the pressure going to the clutches.

Sounds like you need to replace the solenoids in the valve body one is sticking

A host of problems in the ZF 6HP19 transmission seem to trace back to clogged solenoids in the mechatronic valve body. You have options to rebuild yourself starting around $600 in parts, and some folks who will sell you a rebuilt valve body with a 1 year warranty. What these guys say looks good, but I have no personal experience with them.

The seals are between the valve body, there a four rubber tube seals and one rectangle seal the rectangle seal is housed on a plastic rectangle block in each side are the oring type seals. The bigger question what are the adaptation numbers for the clutches, if the numbers are over or negative 300, then replacing the seals may not have a big impact on the shifting.
