    seafoam?

Would like some opinions about using Seafoam in my 2001 330ci. Really respect the advice I've gotten on here before, and look forward to your thoughts. Thx.

I read somewhere that seafoam is an old-style fuel system lubricator and that there are newer systems that can clean/lubricate better now. As for cleaning upper cylinders through vacuum line I'm not too sure.. I hear that does do good results but I don't know how that would work on an E 46

Just did it this past weekend. Worked fine and while the smoke show was impressive... Not sure how much good it did. Engine seems slightly smoother overall but not a big difference.

I've used Seafoam in motorcycles and cars for years. Seafoam did wonders for getting an older motorcycle running clean again. However, the consensus among BMW owners is that Chevron Techron Fuel Injector Cleaner every 10,000 miles is the best $8 you will ever spend.

I've used Seafoam for years, but mostly as a fuel stabilizer in my bikes and four wheelers. I'm sure that it has some cleaning properties, but unless you've been using it from the start as a part of regular maintenance, I wouldn't expect miracles from it.

I can't speak for an E46, but my girlfriend has a 2007 Mercury Mariner and she drives every day for Lyft and Uber. A couple of weeks ago she went out to go to work and out of nowhere she has a big lifter noise issue. She took it immediately to the shop around the corner and the mechanic put Seafoam in it and said to drive it for 50-100 miles and then do an oil change. She did this and the next day the noise was completely gone. I was really impressed. I had never heard of the stuff so I went online and looked it up, watched some youtube videos and read some info on it. It seems like a really great product and I really couldn't believe the difference in my girlfriends car overnight.

SEAFOAM is a 'fuel injector' cleaner....it is a chemical solvent that erodeds away particles that form around the injection port that if not removed inhibit designed injection blast-flow.
