I have the e39 5 series manual. the overview is for the m52(tu) what I'm (wanting to know ) is if I've covered everything that may be prone to failure in the near future besides the fan clutch , one thing that was leaking an is causing an issue (in the overview I'm looking at) is the secondary water pump an the f hose . (Be blunt if you think I should or shouldn't change something ) a few of these parts say non-m (but all are OEM BMW parts from "bimmerworld") an I do have the m-series 530i should I take that too literally
RADIATOR, UPPER AN LOWER HOSE , THERMOSTAT ,HOUSING,O RING AN GASKET,WATER PUMP, (COMPOSITE)PULLEY , additional water pump, f hose ,hydraulic belt tensioner ,tensioner pulley (the two smaller pieces) the AC pulley ,new belts
There is no such thing as an M series 530i

- 2019 M2 Competition, self-tuned, 504whp
- 2016 Mini Cooper S
I'll double check tomorrow on what the m series aftermarket parts look like (but that's all aftermarket available )the most identifying feature would be the factory were it was built right ? Or do u mean it's not the 530i it's the "m5"
There is only the e39 m5 v8, you could have sport options, but it would not be a m car
On that note, what would be the difference between the 5 series (sport package)an the (modified) package just the motorsport interior ? There was no 6 speed transmission ,how about the suspension ,why I'm asking is id like to know what it would take to make it a fake(imaginary) lol "m car"

Not a fake m5, a fake 5 series with the m package

That would be a link to a E-46, what I think you are looking for is this: http://www.alpina-automobiles.com/en...-5-series-e39/
To get back on track for your question, yes everything you posted in the original thread will be needed for a coolant overhaul, and don't forget the surge tank: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=17_0161
There are sponsors out there that make these kits to simplify things, this one is from ECS Tuning: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assemble...cse391153~6kt/

Appreciate the link for the radiator to frame (I was hoping g the Bentley manual was going to be overview like this) . True it is simple, I think I may be getting a better deal from this bimmerworld site doing it piece by piece also going a bit more into detail for safety's sake )but doing my inventory I'm adding in the heater inlet coolant temperature sensor an all the lower water hoses,an clamps 6hours worth at the local foreign shop
So I don't own the E-39 Bentley, as it is actually 2 books, somewhere around 900 pages or so. What I do own is the TIS, which you can find by googling it. It is the BMW repair manual for your car, and while it is a bit odd to read, it will do the trick.

Yeah u answered what I was wondering for the most part with the alpina link, is the 530d diesel Factory turbo like that
Yes, but only in Europe. There are several different motors that were not exported to the U.S. The main reason behind that is BMW USA didn't want to pay the DOT/EPA fees for those cars. With the M52TU/M54 motor, the B20; B23; B25: B28; B30 are mostly the same engine so they only had to pay for one of them.

You lost me, you asked what I meant , were u asking about my post that I deleted or something in the message before
- - - Updated - - -
Makes sense
Correct, I was responding to the fact that there is mostly only Gasoline motors in the U.S. BMW of U.S.A. has to maintain the fact that BMW is a luxury model car, while here in Europe we have several models you will not see in the States.

Yeah exactly what I was thinking for anything that maintains the luxury car approach. Has anyone on this site attempted an all electric conversion I know this is more of the purist forum but would be awesome to see anyways ,also you should post the rest of your cars to your album

How hard is the heater inlet to replace ?do u need to remove the cover front the top of the motor, is the alternator in the way , anything that needs to be tightened to torque specs. overall how difficult would it be for me as a FIRST time diy project ?
Last edited by jharbert530; 08-09-2017 at 06:04 PM.
I am going to assume you mean the heater control valve hose to the heater core? This system has an electrical valve with a pump that controls the flow of coolant into the heater core(s). http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=64_0930
I wouldn't do this if this is your first time, get some help as that hose snakes under the intake.

The other digram I was looking at makes that look alot less complicated (because where it ends)..what your diagram shows as 5(the 3way T) is number 9 on mine but it's only the left side of that (an it looks different . Number 2 on your diagram the additional water pump(the pump you mentioned)it is the only thing leaking(from the hose) I haven't noticed any other residue underneath the radiator (but there is atf fluid everywhere from the radiator to the shield) but that why I'm hound dogging the hoses I'd like to see the shape it in ,if my cooling syatem has been shot an the thermostat has been reading wrong I could be trying to invest a lot of money into something that's gross an worthless on the inside
- - - Updated - - -
That questioned ended up being a two partner what's in the way?(more or less if I done the hoses from the thermostat to the pulleys what would have to be removed to replace the water hoses

Obd tool on its way so I don't have to ask him to do it again
My bad d worthy I never answered your question for onee, an two I think we're talking about two separate pieces? i thought I posted this in the other post, in this link it's number 8 the heater inlet pipe www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=DT63-USA-01-2001-E39-BMW-530i&diagId=11_2638

Brittle=replace would there be any reason (one everything is fixed ) it wouldn't be safe to try the fan clutch trick to see if it's needed immediately, while I replace a few other things
What fan clutch trick are you talking about?
