    LHS ignition coil mount

Gradually fixing replacing the little things. When I bought my car, the left hand side ignition coil bracket was missing and the ignition coil had been bolted to the body. I bought a replacement bracket ages ago and finally got round to fitting it but without a decent pic for reference (realoem is no help at all) I'm not sure where it was originally located.

Can someone please post a pic with the LHS ignition coil mounted in the correct position?

    Thanks

Perfect, thanks! Looks like the bracket I purchased is for the wrong side as it couldn't fit onto the oil filter in this way - hence why I've been stumped where it goes!!

What's the orange thing? I don't have that. Airbag relay? I also don't have airbags!

It's the airbag accelerometer module. There is another one on the opposite fender.

Aha, interesting. Looks like our cars are near identical too! What year is yours? Mine's a euro-spec 91. Originally sold in the UK and exported to New Zealand in 2006.

1991 850i (5/91 production date). Yeah, amazingly similar, even the same rear end.🤗 The pic below shows my old Remus exhausts, but now sporting round tailpipes (Eisenmann) similar to yours. The only difference I see is our front ends. My coupe has the Wings West (Hamann facsimile) front spoiler, whereas yours appears to be the factory CSi air dam.

Cool. Not sure I've seen the wings west front spoiler. Have you got a front on shot?

Here ya go! A smaller lip like the Hamann would've be perfect. The second pic is the actual Hamann air dam.

I prefer yours. It looks great but would last about 10 seconds at my ride height, I think. I have no problems keeping the csi spoiler scrape-free on New Zealand's sh*tty roads!

I bet they sound fantastic. Can't quite see, are they straight piped? Any other mufflers/cats/resonator?

Yes, the Eisenmanns sound pretty sweet. Loud, snarling, barking exhaust notes all at the same time. There is a slight drone right exactly and only at 1k rpm. The drone presented itself right after the center resonator was removed. Initially had the resonator on, sounded very good, but I wanted just a little more soundtrack. I could live with this though as the sweet sound offsets everything else.

So the exhaust setup is this: factory cats, SuperSprint stainless X-pipes, and the Eisenmann race exhausts. I'm pretty content and impressed with this setup.
