Wink Which water pump do I need for my 84 733i? 125kmiles

Hi guys another newbie question, I'm going to replace all my belts so I thought might as well do my water pump but on ebay they list two types a Graf spin on and Meyle bolt on water pumps. Which do I need for my 84 733i?? Thanks.

Spin in is easier to service. Check your current fan or post pictures.

    Meyle sucks BTW
    I make E23 parts.

I remember the first time I had to do the water pump on my first 533 in 1994, with a bolt flange...what a nightmare.

Sounds good. Is it easy to convert like a branch davidian?

You'll need a new fax clutch of course.

If your current pump and clutch are good, I would leave them.

I actually like the bolt through style. But if the clutch is bad or not very strong, then now is the time to convert to spin on. Just research what the latest forum favorite is for brand ie Sachs, Behr etc... I went through a few very weak spin on ones before I switched brands to one that actually moved some air at normal temps and locked up at higher temps (not e23 though).

Some part numbers for the conversion:

    Thumbs up

Agreed 100%...if it works do not dick with it.

Sachs is the only aftermarket brand that works worth a damned. Behr are junk now. I have had them stay locked and refuse to lock on other Euro cars. Sachs work as well as OEM.
