Does the 740iL have a unique pump, different from the 735 / 750?
Can't seem to find an aftermarket one with the 740iL part number...

Yes, looks completely different from M30 and M70 engines, also maker is different, 735 and 750 are ZF, 740 Vickers or LuK, seals is also not that easy for the M60 pump https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...air-kit-source
I have repaired quite a number of M30 and M70 power steering pumps with new seals, profile rings and gaskets, but still looking for complete seal kits for the M60 pump.
There are pro shops specialized on repairing these LuK and Vickers pumps, the repair kits must exist.
