I have an odd question. My wife owned a 2004 Z4 that we thought was stock, even though there were signs that the hood and trunk lid were changed (as they were primer black on the underside). Anyway we have had it for 4 years now and it always scrapes the front bumper on almost anything. We considered this normal, and have repainted the bumper about once a year!!!
Anyway it now has 165000 on it and we came across another 2004 that has only 70000 on it for cheap. The old one is a 2.5 with steptronic. The new oone has the 3.0 with paddleshifters, smg transmission. Now the issue. The new one is a visable amount higher than the old one, like 1/2 inch to an inch higher. So, I am wondering if someone may have changed the springs on the old one. Ideas?
The springs sag as they age, just like people.
do a VIN#check, may be the difference between a standard and sport suspension.
Have you gotten under your Z4 and looked at the springs?
