My friends 1984 633 needs the rearmost muffler. ROCKAUTO.com has no listing. Where do we start? Thanks!
Go to realoem.com and get the part number. Google that part number. I did this for my '86 and found plenty of sellers.Good luck.
That may be a true NLA part, as a buddy of mine with a similar car found out a year or so ago. He ended up having a good shop custom-make the middle and rear sections. Might also be tougher in CA than it is here in FL, but my '85 Euro also has a non-OEM system due to BMW not importing such parts. If you find the right shop, it's really not such a big deal, but the wrong one will take you to the cleaners.

I went through a similar extensive search for a rear muffler for my '83 633. I found out that at least on the '83 the original BMW part was the center and rear section as one piece. I was unable to find any replacements for the whole assembly anywhere in the country. Also, apparently later model 635 mufflers will not work as the hangers are in the wrong places.
In the end I got lucky and found just a rear section that was NOS made by Ansa as a drop in replacement that some muffler shop had sitting on his shelf for years. Someone ordered it and never picked it up - he was glad to be rid of it and I was very happy to get it! The old rear section was cut off and the new one welded on; hangers all matched the original BMW unit. Looks and sounds stock right down to the chrome tips (which are BMW OEM) - just what I wanted.
I wish your friend good luck with his search, but there is no one manufacturing these anymore.
Where are you located? I happen to have a NOS Rear muffler section for a 1983 633csi made by Bosal.
