    Post RTD Shifter Group buy

Hey guys not sure if this is the right spot to post this (please delete if I posted in the wrong spot) but just wanted to let you guys know my buddy Sol Larocque spoke with Maher @ RTD and started a Group buy on a bmw enthusiast facebook page some of you guys might have seen on e36 world and e36 track cars.

There's 19 people on the list for non locking shifter and 3 people for locking version.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the info Mr.Sol sent me on pricing for the group buy

"I have been talking with Maher from RTD Shifting Technologies about a group buy for us as some have missed the last one so",

    Here are the details :

    Shifter will fit, E30, E36, E46 without a need of a DSSR.
It fits E82 and E9X with our Custom DSSR. It works on all E46 model, Excluding XI (We didn't test yet on any XI)

They will provide a 5% discount when we have 10 peoples and 10% for 20+ (lets aim the 10%, 10 non-locking and 10 locking)

Group Buy Prices will be as below:

Choose between a Mini and Race lever.
-Mini Lever: 300 mm height above the tunnel.
-Race Lever: 360 mm height above the tunnel.

Now choose which version of the shifter you want :

-V0 Raw aluminum fits only RTD Shift Knob (Regular price: 349 USD)

-V1 fits our RTD knob and any swappable to OEM knob with side screw only (Regular Price: 374 USD)

-V2 fits our RTD knob and any swappable to OEM knob including stock knob (Regular Price: 399 USD)

-V3 fits our RTD knob and a threaded knob (M12x1.25 mm) (Regular Price: 399 USD)

All above versions could be in Mini or Race levers..
    All prices for Raw Aluminum.
Knob available : Delrin black, white or Aluminium.

    Above prices Excluding Shipping:
-Shipping to USA / Canada / Europe: $50 USD
    -Shipping to Australia: $85 USD

After the first 10 people commit to the group buy i will post Mahers email so you can get in contact with him for payment and customization of the shifter you want.

Below is some more info about the RTD Non-locking Solid SSK:

-First Solid Short Shifter to fit the E30/E36/E46/E82 Console without trimming.
-Mounts to the OEM tunnel's holes (No need for drilling)
-Solid Means, it has a Torsion Spring, that gives a solid feeling and a better feedback while changing gears.
-All turned and milled parts are made of Alumec 89 Alloy which is harder than Aluminum 7075 Alloy used in different shifters, cage is made from Stainless Steel.
-Bronze Bushings Used instead of Teflon Bushings, this gives a longer life for the shifter.
-Has a Pivoting joint at the area where it connects to the selector rod, which gives a Flexibility to the short throws!
-Shifter have a full 1 year warranty
-We recommend you to buy a DSSR for the best shifting experience you can have one here or wait a few weeks for RTD to provide info about the one they are developing for the e36 (dssr is available for e46 m3 and e92) : https://www.akgmotorsport.com/product-category/3-series/e36-1992-1999/shifters-e36/

Here a review of the shifter : http://www.canadianautoreview.ca/project-1/rtd-shifter.html

For the locking version of the RTD SSK we will need to start another group buy because it is a all different engineering process so the minimum would be 10 peoples and the price is 490USD. Also please note that this shifter only have 1 version and it come with the RTD Knob, if the condition for this shifter is not meet it will not happen.

Just to be clear to avoid any headache, shifters will be shipped after 4 weeks from ending the group buy.

Let me know if anyone is interested and we can add you to the list

Facebook group is - "BMW E36 Group" its a closed group so may have to join but at this point if you want a shifter you can email Maher @RTD directly to place your order jut follow the steps above on post #6 and mention the group buy on "BMW E36 Group" and Sol Larocque is the one who started the group buy I just helped spread the word on it . I'll be getting a V0 non-lockout version for my e36M.

List is about 25 right now, as for a bigger discount I don't believe there is one at the moment

The RTD seems intreresting, have they worked on some of the issues that have been noted by others feedback?

    1. I'm the first one who noted the "C" clip doesn't fully seat into the pivot pin groove. I went with a "snap ring" instead but it was standard size as metric was too thick. I also think the groove could be a tad deeper as well.

    2. The pivot joint is too wide at 21.0 mm and needs to be 20.6 mm so it will fit any DSSR out there already. That's being worked on

    3. The shift lever adjustment from left to right is a pain to re tighten and keep position for 3rd and 4th gear at the same time. That's being worked on

    4. The hardware is just too small and I mentioned using carriage bolts instead with nylon locking nuts and washers. I think he will be going in the direction. Plus it lines up the base left to right nicely.

As for the base it's made of stainless which is very strong but I do see one weak point as the single slot is too close to the shifter opening at the tunnel. However with the washer it should be good enough.
