    Clips on rear deck cover

Does anybody sell the plastic clips that hold the rear deck cover to the rod? The part I'm referring to is trim cover for the retractable top. 51479128488. Mine were broken upon purchase and are held in place by six zip ties.

That's pretty much what I found. Not worth $267.00 to replace the entire unit when all I need are the 4 in square plastic pieces that hold it to the bar. I will probably drill the clips out and use some type of nut plate to hold them together.

Here is the 10.00 fix. Sleeve nuts, connector nuts, whatever you call them. I used aluminum 8/32 by 3/4 inch long. Drilled the holes and painted the nuts with flat black. It doesn't matter how jacked up the insides of the plastic grip plates are the hardware will hold it all together. I found on the install it was easier to remove the shelf and support bar from the car to install the grip pieces. The bar attaches with four T30 torx bolts. After I was sure everything was going to fit I put a drop of Locktite on the screw threads to hold it together. Here is a pic of the finished product and the individual components with the holes drilled. Attachment 607447Attachment 607448
