    New tires

I just got some 107 18 inch staggered wheels for my 03 Z4 that currently has 16 inch wheels. After I have them refurbished , one has the rim crack that so many get, I'm gonna buy some mid level tires from Tire Rack. Any ideas on what to put on it. Tire Rack warehouse is only 12 miles away so no shipping. I hope they bolt right on.

I just put the Pirelli P Zero Nero GT on my daughters Z4. They seem like a good value. They're no Pilot Super Sport, but a nice "mid level" tire.

I'm hopeful my Sapphire Black Metallic 03 will look as good as yours when I put on my new 18's. When I have the wheels redone I have to decide on whether to keep the stock or redo the color, hyper silver, gunmetal, or others.

I guess I'm not familiar with this issue... what is this common crack the style 107 wheels are susceptible to?

While browsing thru all the different sites, I saw several references to some class action lawsuits against BMW for the same type crack that I have on the wheels I just bought, knowingly, off Ebay. It's on the inward lip of the wheel which I am having welded up.

after a quick Google search the style 296 wheels seem to be the ones involved in the suit, I didn't find anything about the 107s (however, admittedly, I didn't search long either)

mainly curious because I have the 107s (OEM with my Z4) and have no issues with them except for some curb rash by the original owner

107's do not have the same issue, it affects only 296's

The one of mine has the same crack as the 296, previous owner didn't want to fix it. Inside tire bead, about one inch split.

All wheels can develop cracks under certain driving conditions.

296's develop cracks under essentially any driving condition due to a structural flaw in the wheel itself. Your 107's were not involved in the class action suit because they aren't the same issue.
