Hey all.
Recently installed a new automatic trans in my 83 733i. We noticed a plug that we think is a crank sensor, sitting atop the transmission. We can't figure out where it goes on the engine. Anyone have any ideas? The car turns over but won't spark without it.

Intake manifold has two support brackets running from the top intake manifold and down torwards the head - They bolt onto the valve cover, the bracket on the Left (passenger side) has Two slots about midway, one is the Crank Position Sensor.
If those plugs have fallen out of the manifold support bracket, they're probably dangling off the firewall. They're two female plugs with steel wire locking clips, look a lot like fuel injector plugs but with three pins instead of two.
Be aware that there are two sensors running up from the driver's side of the bellhousing. One is the position/crank angle sensor, and the other is a speed sensor. The sensors are actually identical electrically, but the ECU won't spark if they're mixed up. The ECU won't switch on the fuel pump if it gets no signal from the speed sensor.
