4 door cars are more practical
They are usually the same weight as coupes or very close to it (I believe on some older cars, due to the added structural reinforcement that coupe's needed, sedans were slightly lighter)
They are usually stiffer than their coupe counterparts

They are sometimes also cheaper to insure

But coupes look better so I own coupes

In terms of looks, I think it's a wash. I really don't think that a coupe looks any better than a sedan and vice versa. I drive a sedan because it's more practical. Easier access to the back seat and the doors are shorter. I regularly park in parking lots and the shorter doors on sedans just make life a little easier.

4-doors are objectively better. I never understood why people think 2-doors look better, so that removes the one reason for getting them.
Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one?

    That's why I decided for a 4-door. A good option is a Touring or 4-door Hatchback.

To me improved looks of the coupe depend on the vehicle, and in the case of the 3 series any improvement is very marginal.

IMHO, 4 door "3" will have a much wider resale market and therefore higher values

^Agreed. I prefer the "3" sedan over the coupe any day.
