FS: 1999 BMW M3 Coupe * Fern Green over Sand Beige * 89K miles * recently refreshed * with extras * optional HRE C90 wheels

A bittersweet sale of my super clean '99 M3 Coupe (rear wing delete). I just purchased a one of a kind E31 8 series for my collection, but sadly this will mean I have to sell some of my other BMWs. I'm trading off my E38 740i M Sport, and selling this M3 as well as my 2000 M Roadster (Oxford Green)

I've got tons of time, money and work into this M3, but as usual, there's always a few more little things to take care of, but I will now have to leave those to the new buyer. If you are interested in the refurbishment details and the full condition of the car, please message me, and I can forward you a very long email that I wrote the other day for an interested party.

Recently paint corrected. Interior is excellent. Could use new floor mats.

I bought my M3 coupe on December 31st of 2015 with 88371 chassis miles on it. Today, it only has 89,356.... So I haven't even put a thousand miles on the car for the year and a half I've owned it. But I can tell you I put a LOT of time and money into it, as this car was in dire need of a rescue. The car's got great, bones no doubt (straight, solid, no rust, beautiful paint), but I could just slap the previous owner(s) for all the butchery I had to undo (very poorly installed RMS supercharger for starters). But in the end, it's been the car I've gotten the most compliments on by a long shot.... and that's 12 BMWs worth! (soon to be 13 with the 8 series!).

The only real bummer with the car (which I didn't know when I bought it), is that the motor had been replaced. It was an S52 from an automatic convertible sourced by major parts supplier LQK, which are certified motors. This S52 runs fantastically though, and I've included a compression check video from yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuG4XDAESac

I'm guessing the previous owner blew up the original motor and decided to supercharge the car during replacement motor install. They also ground off the tabs for the stock airbox and cruise control, so I've installed a used Dinan carbon fiber intake. The engine has some kind of custom headers, and the Active Autowerkes cat back. The clutch appears to be a racing clutch, and I hate it, as it chatters in reverse. It works totally fine, but I'd rather have a single mass stock unit. I also discovered an RMS short shift kit installed, which I would swap out for stock if it were me. The front bumper is VIN matched to the car, but they cut the brake duct mounts to install the aftercooler radiator they had in there. I have lots more pictures of the S.C. uninstall if needed.

The car will come with 2 sets of wheels. The original Contour wheels are in excellent shape and are wearing what I believe to be their only second set of tires from 2005! They are currently on the car for new photos (when it stops raining here), but I would not recommend driving on them very far. I'm guessing the previous owner had custom wheels on the car for most of its life. The Contour spare is 100% original, never mounted to a hub, tire is from 1999. I also can include a set of five DS1 wheels with 2012 tires on them, which are the tires I've been using since I owned the car. Again, the spare has the original tire I believe, but has been mounted and used for a short time. Lastly, I will be offering a custom set of HRE C90 competition wheels to the buyer of the car. I had intended to install these on the M3, but never got around to it. These wheels cost their original owner almost $8000 to have made: candy bronze centers, smoked clear lips, titanium hardware kit, and all the custom lightning cuts. I will be selling these for $3000, but if the buyer of the car wants them, I will include them for an additional $2500.

I have a lot of other things with the car too, like a stock muffler, the original suspension (currently on Koni's with Dinan springs), clear OEM tails, clear OEM headlights, OEM wing in silver with slight damage.

PM me for 47min walk around video, plus tons of new pics on the forum post.

    List Date: 7/30/2017

Is the car accident free? Honestly, this looks like the best buy the e36 market has had in several months. Incredible colour.

    - 98 m3, techno/anthrazit cloth, 124k and officially worthless - 89 m3, alpine/black 143k and officially old - 2000 323it, tiag/grey, 169k and officially boring

Yes indeed! Accident free! If it wasn't for the non-matching engine, and super charger related modifications they made, I would probably have a couple more grand on it.

Bimmerbreaker and Danny Z. saw it last weekend when they were over (you can see B.B. in the reflections of some of the shots with the contour wheels LOL)

Thanks for the good words on the car, it's a REALLY tough one to let go, especially since I'm not even really done with it yet! But wait till you see what's replacing it (if you're an E31 fan).

Thanks much frost... And I *am* afraid to drive it here in my town! Nobody has any respect for collector cars, they drive like ass, and the roads are mostly Sh#$% too. I took the car to Cars 'N Coffee once, and I was a nervous wreck. It's held in a upscale shopping center parking lot but still has a steady stream of soccer moms pulling in with their van-loads of sticky fingered rug-rats. Then there's those types that just *have* to wear their giant, boat anchor worthy, loopy wallet chains, and are quick to squeeze in between fenders to get a glimpse of the Aventador interior the second those doors flip up! I was probably more freaked out to get a scratch on the M3 more than the guy with the Ferrari 275 GTB 4 cam!

Thanks again man, getting some good hits on the M3, but still for sale! The M Roadster has a potential buyer as well. I'm much better at buying cars than selling them!

Yes indeed the M3 is still available. I just got home from California yesterday, trailering in my new E31 8 series... so i had to kick out my Z3 M Coupe from the garage to keep the M3 protected (and still be able to garage the 840ci). Too many cars, not enough garage space! Please let me know if you are interested! The M3 is getting a refreshed wax and touch up on Wednesday when my detailer comes to do the M Roadster (also for sale).

UPDATE: Car was just re-detailed by the same guy who did the paint correction last year. He also applied a coat of ceramic gel to further enhance and protect the paint... it really looks like liquid green paint now... Gonna try for some new photos tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

    98 M3
The fact this hasn't sold makes me think the e36 market isn't what people think it is.
    Try BAT?

    - 98 m3, techno/anthrazit cloth, 124k and officially worthless - 89 m3, alpine/black 143k and officially old - 2000 323it, tiag/grey, 169k and officially boring

Maybe.... I've been following all the the BaT E36 M3 Coupe auctions over there and most are falling short from what the sellers are expecting... And those are cars with better provenance than mine. It's probably going to be a loooong time before E36 M3 values average even 1/3 of current average E30 M3 prices (~$60k?)... and apparently even 25% is still too much to ask for. I suppose that's not a good relative comparison anyways, as the two cars only really share the name and not much else.

I think part of my problem is that I've only got the car advertised here (aka Panjo) and on local Craigslist (all spam no buyers). I'm not sure how anyone is even finding this post lol. I've recently added that I have a walk around video but not a single person has asked for the link, nor commented on the new photos... I just don't think there's a whole lot of Panjo traffic once the initial ad falls off Panjo radar... Same goes for all the parts I have for sale on Panjo too...haven't sold squat.

I may give BaT a go, but from the way things are going now, the E36 M3 appears to be out of season. My dad and I are planning to put his rare 1960 right hand drive Jaguar Mk.II on BaT as soon as possible as those seem to be doing well... It's an interesting selling platform that's for sure.

I just picked up two more E38 740i sport project cars too, so I really need to get this M3 and M Roadster gone!
