First, call it a bimmer. Beemer is what we call BMW motorcycles. Next, join the BMW Car Club of America. The San Diego chapter is very active-lots of great folks. Last, find a reputable independent (indie) shop to work on your car. Try www.bimrs.org. Ask members of the club.
