    Twisting and pulling is how you get them out, after you've removed the bolt. I recall a cap on each sensor, then the allen bolt holding it in place, but if you're able to rotate them,you should be able to pull them out. You can spray them heavily with a penetrant oil, like PB Blaster or Deep Creep, to help lube them.

    Again, make sure to carefully label their placement, or just remove one at a time. Although the sensors are the same part, the one that reads position must be plugged into the correct wires above; ditto for the sensor reading the engine speed.

    (There's no possibility that the plugs were accidentally swapped already, is there ?)

    Have you verified that there is power at the + terminal of the coil, when the ignition is on? If there is no power here, we need to back up from the sensors.

    Ive got 8.9v on the positive with it turning over.

    With key in on position, this needs to be reading ~12.5 volts. Check the voltage again, with the key in RUN position, engine NOT cranking.
