Those running BBK F+R on an E36, same pads F+R?

95 M3 - Had 332mm ST40 stoptechs up front with DTC-60s F+R on the stock rear caliper/rotor. Also ran this combo on stock brakes F+R with success.

Needed new front rotors so thanks to the sale (ECS tuning) on a rear E36 M3 Stoptech 332mm BBK I just bought the whole rear kit and swapped rotors around. Now I need new pads, stick with DTC60 in the rear as well as Im used to in this chassis?

On other cars I usually always run a less aggressive pad in the rear but the E36 chassis seems to like the same pad all the way around and wasn't sure if the rear BBK changed the dynamics enough to step down in the rear - thanks.

I would start square and bump up the fronts to dtc70 ONLY if you have instability issues under braking. Since you have the same pad shape all the way around, worse case you have another set of dtc60s for your rears when they need replaced.

I run the same pads front/rear. Feels great.

ECS having a sale on just the rotor rings?

Thanks - don't think they had a sale on the rotor rings that I could tell, mainly full kits. I saved $600 off the rear kit so just bit the bullet.

I have the 4-corner ST40 StopTech kit and used to use a less aggressive pad at the rear, but switched to same all round and don't really notice much difference. The E36 M3 StopTech kit definitely has more rear bias compared to stock brakes, but increased weight transfer under track braking makes it all come right. One nice thing with the StopTechs is that, since they use the same caliper body and pad fitment front and rear (but with different piston sizes), managing pad wear and spares is simplified by using a single compound.

I'm now using PF08 pads. Pricey, but excellent performance and great longevity.

Ultimately though what works for you is best for you. If you end up preferring a less aggressive pad at the rear, do that.

Yup, you can rotate brake pads same as wheels/tires with a 4 corner Stoptech kit. That's what I do, currently using Carbotech XR1's all the way round and I'm really happy with them. Good initial brake torque, excellent ability to modulate them and they stop great.

Does the ebrake still work with the Stoptech rear BBK?

The only thing bumming me out is the stock LTW wheels 17x8.5 don't clear with a 12mm up front, have to run a 15mm and the rears seem to need +7.5mm which of course are not hub centric requiring me to buy a 10mm to try on the rear. Ill be adding more rear camber anyways so hopefully Im good with a 10 in the back for street use.

Both sets of track wheels clear easily in the rear w/o a spacer.

Weird. My Kosei K1's clear front and rear without a spacer. I run a front spacer when I run Hoosier race tires...

My 17 SSR (255 NT01s) and 17 K1 (225/45 Conti challenge slicks) track wheels would clear the brake calipers F+R but in the front won't clear the strut so have a 12mm for that, no issues. But with my new street wheels (LTW 17x8.5 on each corner) in the front still hit the caliper requiring at 15mm in the front and will try a 10mm in the rear, they will clear no question in the rear with that spacer but Im worried about the tire rubbing the outer fender. Always something.

Yup, that's why I run a front spacer with my track tires, need the strut clearance. It clears fine with my Michelin PSS 245 street tires, but I'm too lazy to pull the spacer. I've never run a spacer in the rear, I know with the Hoosiers its a pretty tight fit without them....
