    Is Ruville same as the OEM INA for the timing chain tensioner?

    I've purchased supposedly OEM INA timing chain tensioners for my 740i from two eBay sellers now, and each time, I've received Ruville units. Are they the same? I understand that they are both owned by Schaeffler, but I'm still receiving conflicting answers.

    Thanks in advance.

    Why not just get INA units from FCP or OEMbimmerparts? Never heard of Ruville

    From their site;

    Schaeffler in the Automotive Aftermarket
    More service from a single source. Schaeffler has bundled the sales activities of its LuK, INA, FAG, and Ruville brands for the company’s Automotive Aftermarket Business Division since 2014. This has made a central contact partner for sales available for all four brands.

    fcp euro sent me ruville brand parts {chain tensioners} - and said they are same quality and to same standards when i asked same question.

    Interesting. I ordered INA upper tensioners and lower tensioner from FCP and got INA ones with the BMW number ground off. That was about one and a half years ago, though.
