Greetings all. I'm replacing some a/c hoses and as I saw in another thread but can't seem to find now, the nut on the hose into the top of the compressor that runs from the regulator is huge. Can anyone confirm if it is what I believe is 32mm and both what they used and how the accessed it? Very tight quarters for a prospectively very large wrench. Thank you.
It is large, not exactly sure it's 32mm though. When removing my AC hose I disconnected it from below the car. I used an adjustable wrench when disconnecting mine and it did take a while since the one I had was huge. To save time when attaching the new hose I would hand tighten it as far as you can by hand and do the rest with the adjustable.
Jeff, I bought a wide mouth "snub-nose" crescent wrench, works well. Tons of em on Amazon

Thanks guys. That snub nose will be perfect.
it is a 32mm, or 1 1/4" wrench, i use the same one for my fan clutch. Snubby would be handy though
Yes, fan clutch narrow wrench was what did it. The snub nose didn't work, even had a 6' 280 lb mechanic friend try with 'em with no success!
Well, I owe you 6 bucks, or a beer or a beverage of your choice.

Well, if Idiot Fest is here in town (and I don't make it up to L.A. in a week or two), you can buy for me at this great German restaurant I'll work on setting up for part of the fun. Meanwhile, do you have any pics of your Parallel Flow condenser installed? jeffbrown@conversent.net if you don't mind. About to order one but may just fab it really nice off of the original and do that as phase two of my a/c update.
