    Joe's '83 320is Restoration Project

Hey everybody, my name is Joe. I have an 83 320is and a '76 2002. I'm currently working to restore my 83 and thought I would start a thread to share my experience. The car is mostly torn apart right now, and I will upload some pics for everybody later. I'm planning a resto mod build, still undecided on the engine, but open to suggestions (BMW engines only though) slightly modded exterior, just cleaning it up a bit, and stock ish interior. Lol so I will try and be thorough with my bills and hope you enjoy the show! (Old pic before I started tear down. More to follow)

I love the red 2002. Don't see too many of those.

Can't wait for updates. I'm curious to see what engine you land on. I'm mid swap with my m42.

    Nice. I'm pretty sure I'm going built m10 n/a and a turbo m52. But I have 4 m10 motors. That's why I still kinda want a turbo m10

same weights the M10, sits further back and lower for a more balanced car, 140 lbs of twist and 7k rpms with a chip. more fun then a barrel of monkeys.

Just finished removing the rear windshield, driver rear window, trunk lid, and tail lights. But I'm starting to think I might go after market body wiring harness on the reinstall. This wiring is just really dated.

My brother has an E30 M42 and 5 speed trans available if anyone is interested. I believe he also has the proper mounts to swap it into an '02.

He is located in Nashville, TN - PM me with contact info and I will put you in touch.

everything you'll need and then some, plus its cheaper then 'collecting' them. some of the parts on this car are unattainable, like the alpina suspension and the G240 trans with a M42 bell housing and mechanical speedometer drive.

Hadn't even heard of that site before. Ill keep them book marked. Do you buy from them frequently or is shipping cost prohibitive?
