    Intermittent climate control

Hello, i just bought a 318i E46, with automatic climate control. But i have a feeling that it does not work properly. The only place it blows cool air is in the center and corner vents, it is not properly cold when blowing through windshield vents and by the feet. Also it seems to sometimes not cool at all. Any inputs on this?

As i just bought the car i know nothing about it, but diagnostics found no codes on climate control.

Are you saying that the temperature of the air is too high when using the air conditioning (AC)? If so, the AC could need a bit of refrigerant, R134a. Have a professional check the system with proper gauges.
the cold/cool air may not come out if the windshield and foot vents if the climate control (IHKA in BMWeze) if it's in the "auto" mode. Try enabling these vents by pushing the buttons for these vents.

I have new info! It actually only works in auto mode, though still only in center vents. When i use manual controls, the air gets hotter.

The heating/ventilation/AC (hvac) system has 5 flaps that are used by the IHKA to route air through the heater core, the AC evaporator and the vents. There's also a dial on the center dash vent that allows you to mix cold air with warmer air when the AC is on. One of the flaps may not be working properly. It's moved by a servo motor which is controlled by the IHKA.

So i have been testing some more, my Delphi tester cannot see any change in recirculation opening, when i press that button. And nor can i hear it move. Can you guys hear the flaps move when you press recirculate?

I can hear a change in the sound of the air going through the system when I enable recirculate. I can't hear the flaps move. But, I have less than great hearing!

I found out that all my buttons work, and the servo motors work. I had my heatervalve disassembled today, seemed to work fine when powering it. Also responds to changing temperatures in the control panel.
